About BSPM<\/span>

Bharatiya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal<\/h3>

To support the expanding activities of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Bharatiya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal (BSPM) was founded in 1942. A committee of nine distinguished individuals was established to oversee the trust\u2019s initiatives. Since then, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya has been known as BSPM\u2019s Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Pune.<\/p>

In its early years, BSPM benefited greatly from the guidance and contributions of notable figures like Shri Datto Vaman Potdar, Shri Lakshman Balawant Bhopatkar, and Shri Damodar Vishwanath Gokhale. Renowned musicians such as Pt. Vinayakrao Patwardhan, Pt. Dattatraya Vishnu Paluskar, and Pt. Purushottam Rajaram Pandit was instrumental in shaping the organization\u2019s mission and vision.<\/p>

BSPM is dedicated to promoting and preserving the rich heritage of Indian classical music. The trust conducts regular classes, organizes concerts, and publishes literature on classical music. It also offers a structured curriculum and examinations, from Prarambhik to Sangeet Praveen, to uphold high standards in music education.
