Pt. Pramod Marathe

Blessed by the legacy of his father, Pt. Dhundiraj Marathe, Pt. Pramod Marathe has dedicated over four decades to music. He began his training with his father and further honed his skills under the guidance of Shri Dilip Gosavi and Pt. Manohar Chimote.

He is a renowned accompanist, having worked with legendary artists like Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Gangubai Hangal, and Ustad Rashid Khan. His adaptive style has garnered acclaim from critics, scholars, and music lovers alike.

He has performed at major music festivals across India, including Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Samaroha and Tansen Samaroha. In 1992, he was invited by President R. Venkatraman for a bhajan concert at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

He has participated in numerous national broadcasts on AIR and TV channels, featuring in over 100 audio cassettes with eminent artists. His international performances include tours in Australia, the UK, and other countries with celebrated artists.

He has served as Principal of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Pune, since 2006, organising various classical music programs. He initiated "Sanskriti," a program offering music and dance lessons to the families of soldiers through a collaboration with the Southern Command Army Wives Welfare Association.
