Welcome to Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Pune! Our institution has been a beacon of Indian classical music and dance since its founding in 1932 by Pt. Vinayakrao Patwardhan, the disciple of esteemed Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar. As the Principal, it’s a privilege to lead this legacy and work with such talented students and dedicated faculty.
At GMV Pune, we believe in nurturing every student’s artistic journey. Our teaching combines time-honored traditions with hands-on practice, helping students gain confidence, overcome stage fright, and truly grow as artists. Regular performances and assessments ensure that each student’s progress is celebrated and supported. Many of our alumni have achieved incredible success, becoming performers, educators, and cultural ambassadors, both in India and abroad—a testament to the strong foundation they built here.
We’re more than just a school; we’re a vibrant cultural family. Our events, from concerts by renowned artists to community programs, are open to everyone, bringing people together to celebrate and preserve the beauty of classical arts.
